Hello!
I’m an Irish journalist with a passion for storytelling and the environment. Thanks for checking out my portfolio.
I’m a recent graduate of the University of Limerick, where I studied Journalism and Digital Communications. During my four years as an undergraduate student, I worked as a features journalist with Iconic Media, covering a wide range of topics including politics, the environment and the arts. My features led me to winning Features Writer of the Year: Arts and Culture at the Student Media Awards in 2023.
After graduating in 2023, I joined Live 95, Limerick’s leading radio station, as a journalist and researcher. There, I wrote scripts, conducted interviews, and produced radio packages for Limerick Today, the station’s flagship current affairs show. I was also in charge of producing Ours to Protect, a weekly environmental series that I loved working on. The show explored a broad range of topics—from beekeeping and community allotments to offshore wind energy and a one-on-one interview with Minister for the Environment, Eamon Ryan. It was a rewarding opportunity to help bring climate stories to life in a way that felt local, relevant, and solutions-focused.
In March 2024, I had the privilege of speaking at Radiodays Europe on behalf of the Ours to Protect project—an initiative by the Independent Broadcasters of Ireland. The project involved 23 local and regional stations across Ireland producing weekly climate-focused programs. It was a proud moment to represent a movement that champions solutions-based journalism and inspires real action on climate issues.
Following that, I joined Newstalk Breakfast in Dublin as a researcher, where I worked as a researcher and helped produce the early-morning shows Breakfast Business and Breakfast Briefing—two dynamic current affairs shows with a national audience.
Nature has always been a guiding force in my life, and advocating for the environment has naturally become a central part of my work. This passion led me back to university to pursue an MSc in Environment, Society and Culture. My studies have taken me deep into topics like geospatial mapping, ecology, heritage management, and transitions theory. My dissertation explores the challenges facing the adoption of organic tillage farming in Ireland.
When I’m not studying, you’ll find me making art, hugging trees, or hiking up Ireland’s many misty peaks.
