Cameras, Campaigns, and Cycle Lanes

During my time working with Brian Leddin TD, Green Party Spokesperson for Transport and Chair of the Oireachtas Committee on Environment and Climate Action, I gained valuable experience short-form video content designed to make complex policy issues more engaging and accessible.

Political communication is about clarity and distilling technical policy goals into stories that people can connect with. Video proved to be one of the most effective tools in this space. By combining strong visuals with concise messaging, we were able to highlight key issues in transport and infrastructure that matter to people’s everyday lives.

Some examples of the videos I worked on include:

  • 🎥 Bollards A quirky video on the importance of bollards in Limerick city.

  • 🎥Mill Road Cycle Lane – Highlighting the benefits of safe, separated cycling infrastructure for commuters, families, and local communities.

  • 🎥 All-Ireland Strategic Rail Review Breaking down a major policy document into a format that’s easy to understand.

  • 🎥 Limerick Metropolitan Rail – Presenting a vision for sustainable transport in the city and how it fits into Ireland’s climate goals. A lobby video created after the campaign to call for better rail investment in Ireland's National Planning Framework.

  • 🎥 Limerick Junction – A quirky video that received coverage on Newstalk, RTÉ and various regional news outlets on the illusive appeal of Limerick Junction.

Through these projects, I developed a strong skill set in scriptwriting, editing, and distribution strategy, always with the goal of reaching a wide audience while keeping the message clear and authentic to Brian's values and personality.

By combining technical knowledge with creative storytelling, these videos helped bring policy conversations into the public sphere in a way that was engaging, shareable, and impactful.
